Jeff Kruse Promoted to Vice President of DC Division

by | Oct 6, 2017 | News

Hoar Construction announces Jeff Kruse has been promoted to DC Division vice president. Jeff has been with the office since it opened in 2014, and previously held the position of vice president of marketing and preconstruction.

“When we expanded our business into the DC market three years ago, we had already looked at and discussed a succession plan for the office. We knew that Division Vice President Mike Sloan would be planning his retirement in a couple of years, so we’ve been working on developing a smooth and seamless transition plan from the start,” said Hoar Construction President and CEO Rob Burton.

“We’ve known from the beginning that we wanted Jeff to lead the charge. He will take over directing the division, with Mike’s continued counsel and guidance, and we expect that Mike will retire with his lovely wife Kathleen in April of 2018.”

During his career, Kruse has served as a field and project engineer, assistant project manager, project manager, and preconstruction manager. Most recently he has been responsible for the office’s preconstruction, marketing, and business development departments; has served in a project executive role for the DC region’s first major project, Elysium Fourteen; and was a member of the 2015 Hoar Leadership Council. Kruse has also participated in Hoar’s annual officer planning meeting for the past three years in anticipation of this transition.

In his new role, Kruse will lead the growth for the DC Division by carrying out the strategic plan while also developing future leaders for the company.  Kruse and Sloan have shared a great relationship over the past 20 years, working together at several companies in the DC area.

“Jeff has been a great partner in the growth of the DC Division,” said Mike Sloan, Vice President of the DC Division.  “His leadership skills along with his relentless drive for continuous improvement leaves me with the highest level of confidence in the division and company’s success.”
