BIRMINGHAM, AL (April 21, 2015) – Hoar Construction was awarded the Diamond ABC National STEP Award, a Gold ABC Alabama Safe Day Award, and an Innovation in Safety Award for its Leading Indicator Program at the Associated Builders and Contractors – Alabama Chapter’s 11th Annual Awards Day Celebration on Friday, April 17. The Safe Day Awards “showcase companies that have outstanding corporate safety and health plans and exhibit superior safety initiatives.”
The 2015 STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) award earned by Hoar marks their 20th consecutive year to be recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors – Alabama Chapter for safety achievements.
“We are proud of the awards from ABC and the recognition as a safety leader within our industry. But, at the end of the day, the men and women leading our daily efforts in the field ensure the safety of our employees. They are the people I am most proud of. Their daily commitment to safety earned this recognition for our company.” said Bart Wilder, Vice President of Safety for Hoar Construction.
Hoar Construction will continue to celebrate national safety efforts by participating in Safety Week Sunday, May 3 through Saturday, May 9, along with other national and global construction firms. Knowing that more than 80,000 workers suffer an injury on the job site each year is simply not acceptable, and Hoar Construction is going to great efforts to bring safety awareness to the company and the industry alike.
