Hoar Breaks Ground on New Commissary and Navy Exchange Renovation Project in Jacksonville, FL

NAVAL AIR STATION JACKSONVILLE, FL (February 18, 2015) – Hoar Construction participated in a groundbreaking ceremony on February 12, 2015 for the New Commissary and Navy Exchange Renovation at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida. The facility is being developed by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), and Hoar Construction will serve as the project’s general contractor.
The project includes the construction of a 115,777 square foot commissary, which will serve active military personnel, retirees and their families stationed in the NAS Jacksonville area. Hoar’s scope of work will also include the 93,000 square foot renovation of the existing Naval Air Station Exchange, an 11,365 square foot addition, a 250-space expansion to the parking lot, and exterior site improvements.

The New Commissary and Navy Exchange Renovation project at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida is one of two projects awarded to Hoar Construction by DeCA recently. Hoar will also construct the new commissary at Ft. Belvoir, VA.
