MCLEAN, VA (February 5, 2015) – Hoar Construction announced the groundbreaking for construction of The Commons – Building One in McLean, VA. The building will house 319 units and is the first of seven phases consisting of 2,000+ units in total. The project will help fulfill a need for increased residential housing in the Tysons Corner area.
The apartment complex will feature high-end unit finishes with a large array of amenities, including a business center, conference room, living room with dining area, fitness and yoga center, kids room and a two-story sky bar connecting the 13- and 15-story towers at the 10th floor. The developer/owner LCOR/CALSTRS has chosen Hoar Construction and architect Design Collective for its project team.
“We are excited to continue our successful partnership with LCOR/CALSTRS and developing a long-term relationship with Design Collective,” said Michael Sloan, Vice President of Hoar’s Washington, D.C. office. “The local Tysons Corner market is thriving with opportunities and Hoar Construction is proud to be involved with such a first-class team.”
The Hoar Construction Washington office opened in early 2014, and has been securing business rapidly thanks to pre-existing client relationships in the Washington metropolitan area. Within the first ten months under the leadership of Michael Sloan, the office reported record growth in project revenues and the staff has doubled in size. Hoar’s D.C. office is headquartered in Tysons Corner, in the midst of one of the most rapidly expanding construction centers in the greater-Washington area.
